Faculty of Science Division at BCC hold a regular Thursday Mathematics and Physics Colloquium at 2:30 PM. This quarter it is in room L-221

Winter 2005 Schedule

  • January 27 Dana Updegrove will speak on a topic from the philosophy of science.

  • February 3 (3:30) Doug Brown will discuss "Ancient and Renaissance Cosmography: What did the "Old Guys" Know and How did They Know?" This is the first of what will likely be three talks by Doug on related topics over the next couple of months.

  • February 17 David Stacy will speak about the mathematical physics of sound and vibration, in historical context. This will be part one of a series of talks on this topic.

  • February 24 (3:30) Doug Brown will continue to speak on: Ancient and Renaissance Cosmography: What did the Old Guys Know and How did They Know?

  • March 10 Kent Short on the mathematics and physics of weather.

  • March 17 David Stacy continues.
